Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan will make his professional tennis debut next month

The 45-year-old, who retired from football in 2019, has secured a wildcard to play alongside Argentine Federico Coria in the doubles at the ATP second-tier Uruguay Open in Montevideo.

Forlan was a promising tennis player in his teens.

He has recently been playing ITF Masters events in the 45-and-over category.
