    One of the rising stars of men's tennis is preparing for the second round after taking centre stage to round out night one at the French Open


    13th seed Ben Shelton has come-from-behind for a five-set win over Italian Lorenzo Sonego .

    The young American's relished the experience of being scheduled as the opening day closer on Court Philippe Chatrier .



    Countrymen Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe were among the other main men's seeds to advance.

    Women's top seed Aryna Sabalenka was also a first up winners.
