Otago cricket coach Rob Walter feels an extra game of finals cricket will pay dividends in today's Ford Trophy decider against Auckland

Otago cricket coach Rob Walter feels an extra game of finals cricket will pay dividends in today's Ford Trophy decider against Auckland

The Volts beat Canterbury by six runs in the elimination final midweek.

Auckland haven't played since last Sunday, when they lost to Otago in their final round-robin match.

Walter says they come into today's title match 'battle hardened'.

Otago has won the toss and will bat first at Eden Park outer oval, with the first ball about now
