An Auckland serial sex offender's prison term has been cut after he challenged his sentence in the Court of Appeal

An Auckland serial sex offender's prison term has been cut after he challenged his sentence in the Court of Appeal

22-year-old Luca Fairgray was jailed for four-and-a-half years in March after being found guilty of three charges of sexual conduct with a young person.

At the time of his trial, the jury was unaware he'd previously been convicted of 10 charges for sexual assaults against six teenage girls.

Last month, Fairgray's lawyer told the Court of Appeal his sentence and its starting point was manifestly excessive.

Ultimately the the Court agreed and cut Fairgray's final sentence to four years' jail.
