An Auckland man has been sentenced to four-and-a-third-years' jail for attempted multi-million dollar Covid-19 fraud

An Auckland man has been sentenced to four-and-a-third-years' jail for attempted multi-million dollar Covid-19 fraud

Hun Min Im pleaded guilty to 54 charges this year.

He was then found guilty of another 34 at trial in Auckland District Court.

He tried to fraudulently claim 2.3 million dollars through government Covid-support schemes, getting just over 600-thousand.

The Serious Fraud Office says he used it to fund his lifestyle, including buying a luxury vehicle and apartment.
