A public safety campaigner says adding beat cops is the best way to reduce violence in central Auckland

A public safety campaigner says adding beat cops is the best way to reduce violence in central Auckland

Police are still hunting people involved in Sunday's mass brawl on Karangahape Road, that left people with head injuries.

    A 21-year-old's appeared in court.

K Road Community Safety co-founder, Karen Ritchie, says she pushed for more patrols after a spate of violence in the 2000s, and it reduced incidents.

A fight in Auckland's Wiri on Sunday also put two people in hospital.
