A 35-ball blitz from Martin Guptill's helped Auckland post 185 for eight batting first against Canterbury in cricket's T20 Super Smash

The former Black Cap has blasted seven fours and three sixes in his innings of 60.

New international call-up Bevon Jacobs has also put his power on display - belting five sixes in his 53 off just 33 balls.

Pace bowler Henry Shipley returned the superb figures of five wickets for just 19 runs for Canterbury.

Earlier - the Auckland women held on to register a seven-run win via the Duckworth-Lewis Method over their Canterbury counterparts.
