Auckland's public transport users will have one less option from today

Auckland's public transport users will have one less option from today

The rail network will face shut downs until January 28th so crews can carry out repairs and maintenance ahead of the opening of the City Rail Link.

Rail replacement busses will be put on every 10 minutes during morning and afternoon weekday peaks.

KiwiRail Chief Programme Officer David Gordon says in the long term it will be a price worth paying.

He says in the end it will lead to more frequent services and less disruption once the City Rail Link is open.
