A man's been arrested and a loaded firearm seized in Christchurch, after a driver failed to stop for Police

Officers spotted a vehicle on Quinns Road in Shirley on Tuesday afternoon, which fled when Police signalled for it to stop.

Shortly later, the 25-year-old man was arrested after Police stopped a separate vehicle on Bower Ave - where he was a passenger.

A loaded firearm was found in the vehicle.

The man will appear in court next month.
