    Counties Manukau's late season surge has been halted by Canterbury in their NPC quarter-final in Christchurch


    The Steelers have been pipped 23-15 in an extra-time thriller, ending their run of five games unbeaten to finish the season.

    The scores were locked at 15-all after 80 minutes before Canterbury took control.

    Counties Manukau flanker Adam Brash is gutted.



    Canterbury now host Hawke's Bay in their semi-final, with Otago to play Bay of Plenty at home.
