    The former Black Cap has blasted seven fours and three sixes in his innings of 60.

    New international call-up Bevon Jacobs has also put his power on display - belting five sixes in his 53 off just 33 balls.

    Pace bowler Henry Shipley returned the superb figures of five wickets for just 19 runs for Canterbury.

    Earlier - the Auckland women held on to register a seven-run win via the Duckworth-Lewis Method over their Canterbury counterparts.
