Christchurch police are asking for public help, to investigate a hit-and-run crash between a car and cyclist

It happened about 9am on Wednesday - at the intersection of Grahams Road and Westburn Terrace, in Burnside.

The driver left the scene without checking on the seriously injured cyclist, who was taken to hospital.

He was driving a white SUV, similar to a Subaru, and is described as Indian in appearance, between 40 and 50 years old, of large build, with a tattoo on his forearm.

He was wearing a blue turban and grey hoodie.
