Bay of Plenty are using last year's NPC final heartbreak as motivation, as they look ahead to Otago in next week's semifinals in Dunedin

Bay of Plenty are using last year's NPC final heartbreak as motivation, as they look ahead to Otago in next week's semifinals in Dunedin

The Steamers thumped visitors Tasman 21-nil in the second half, beating the Mako 27-7 in this afternoon's knockout.

But Bay of Plenty captain Naitoa Ah Kuoi admits losing in extra time to Wellington in the 20-24 final still hurts.
