A couple of monster heaves has seen Julia Ratcliffe break New Zealand and Oceania records twice at the Porritt Classic athletics meet in Hamilton

The kiwi hammer thrower's managed throws of 71.69 and 72.35 metres, the second just 15 centimetres shy of the Tokyo Olympics entry standard.

Ratcliffe says the achievements haven't sunk in yet.

Eddie Osei-Nketia won the men's 100 and 200 metres, while Zoe Hobbs won the women's 100.

Nick Willis made his 2020 New Zealand track debut, finishing first in the men's 1500 metres.

Dame Valerie Adams and Tom Walsh won the women's and men's shotput respectively.
