    Kiwirail says its taking safety issues on the Hamilton to Auckland Te Huia train service seriously


    Te Huia has been blocked from entering Auckland City after it failed to stop for two red lights this year.

    Kiwirail CEO Peter Reidy says they are surprised by Waka Kotahi's action.

    He says while it's a serious incident, passengers were not in danger.

    Reidy says when a train runs a red light the whole system shuts down.
