Police are appealing for information on possible sightings of a man missing for more than six weeks

Police are appealing for information on possible sightings of a man missing for more than six weeks

Travis Langford left Wellington for Waikato on January 17 -- his car was found burnt out at a farm on Tolley Road in Ngaroma the next day.

Police yesterday reported a man matching his description wearing a poncho, was spotted at several different locations in the King Country yesterday, appearing to be hitchhiking.

Investigators believe the man was heading north, and may have been been picked up by a passing motorist.

Police are wanting to hear from people travelling on State Highway 30 yesterday between 9:30 and midday, with dashcam footage, or who may have picked up a hitchhiker.
