Major disruptions to Wellington buses today as about 250 drivers consider going on strike

Major disruptions to Wellington buses today as about 250 drivers consider going on strike

All services will be impacted from 9am until about 2pm while drivers decide whether to settle or reject a pay agreement with NZ Bus.

If it's rejected, the drivers will discuss a strike - although there's no date in mind yet.

Tramways Union Secretary Kevin O'Sullivan says the relationship with NZ Bus has completely broken down.

He says they're expecting a full attendance, and anticipates NZ Bus's proposal will be firmly rejected.

NZ Bus says the offer is a good deal, but it requires a bit of give and take for it to work for everyone.

Greater Wellington says it supports the meeting, and is reminding passengers to check for Metlink updates before they travel.
