Cyclone Alfred tracker map: When will it hit south-east Queensland?

Tropical Cyclone Alfred will continue its approach towards the south-east Queensland coast today, with the far western edge already impacting the coast from about Coolangatta to Ballina.

The centre of Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to cross the coast  early Saturday morning, most likely between Noosa and Coolangatta, bringing destructive winds and the risk of life-threatening flooding.

The system is expected to make landfall between the Gold Coast and southern parts of the Wide Bay region as a category two cyclone.

If it does, it will be the first cyclone to cross Queensland's southern coast in half a century.
