The Police Commissioner says they tried everything in their power to get protesters at Wellington's Mahanga Bay to leave voluntarily

The Police Commissioner says they tried everything in their power to get protesters at Wellington's Mahanga Bay to leave voluntarily

Six people were arrested this morning as the occupiers were finally ejected.

A trespass notice was issued last month to the group that included people who'd been at the Parliament protests.

Four people were arrested today for trespass, one for obstruction and the other for a warrant.

Andrew Coster says action had to be taken.

He says they reached a natural threshold to bring the situation to an end after lots of opportunities for people to leave.
