Freight company Refrigafreighters Limited has been fined 240-thousand-dollars, over a forklift injury

Freight company Refrigafreighters Limited has been fined 240-thousand-dollars, over a forklift injury

Worksafe National Investigations Manager, Casey Broad, says the parked machine's handbrake failed in 2022, and it rolled down a slope.

It fell on a 33-year-old worker - giving them a punctured lung and broken back.

Broad says the vehicle wasn't maintained, and the serious issues with the handbrake meant it would have moved even on a slight incline.
