There's a call for farmers to unite to make a safer sector, in the wake of the deadliest year of quad bike accidents

There's a call for farmers to unite to make a safer sector, in the wake of the deadliest year of quad bike accidents

Over 100 farms across the country have signed up to the Safer Rides programme giving farmers a 75 percent discount on crush protection equipment.

From 2019 to 2023, there were 22 quad bike-related fatalities in New Zealand.

Farm Without Harm ambassador Lindy Nelson says farmers are very aware of the dangers.

She says its a good start but they need to do more and come together as a sector.
