A police car has been smashed, as Police cracked down on a group Wairarapa boy racers last night

Officers approached a large group in the early morning, at Waingawa Road near Masterton.

Police say bottles, rocks and fireworks, were thrown at officers, and the rear window of a police car was smashed.

They say officers then dispersed the crowd, arrested six people, handed out fines, driver suspensions, and impounded two cars.
