    A suspected drug boat's missing at sea, about 50km from the top of the North Island


    The 3.5 metre skiff has two on board - and is thought to be northeast of Kerikeri.

    Police believe it's part of attempts to smuggle 700 kilograms of methamphetamine into New Zealand.

    This week, 10 people appeared in court - charged with conspiracy to import a class A drug and participating in an organised crime group.

    The Air Force and Police are searching for the boat by sea and from the air.

    Further charges haven't been ruled out.
