Police are urging people to plan appropriately before heading off on tramping adventures

Two people had to be rescued late yesterday afternoon, one from deep within the Kaimanawa Forest Park and the other off Mount Tauhara, east of Taupo.

The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Taupo police to rescue both... within 45 minutes of each other.

Both people became lost as night was approaching.

Taupo police say whether it's a multi-day tramp or a day walk, people need to plan their trip and prepare for all conditions.
