    Southland police have located a body believed to be missing man, Dale Watene, in the Longwood Forestry block


    Watene, 40, went missing from Otautau on April 16.

    Detective Sergeant Chris Lucy says they are formally identifying the body and a post mortem is set for tomorrow.

    He says police will have a better understanding of his death once the post mortem has been completed.

    Victim Support is providing support to Watene's family.
