An ambulance called Cliff heads a convoy through Dunedin today, representing the community's fight to save its proposed hospital

An ambulance called Cliff heads a convoy through Dunedin today, representing the community's fight to save its proposed hospital

Tens of thousands took to the streets last year following the Government's scaling back of plans - amid a suggested cost blowout.

A Dunedin City Council spokesperson says today's convoy includes at least seven vintage buses, fire engines, a tractor, an ATV, multiple council trucks and one councillor on a bike.

They say the convey aims to arrive in the Octogon within the hour - and will make as much noise as possible - to make it clear the South won't be silenced.
