Southland Police say those responsible for shooting two people in Gore remain at large

One person was seriously injured and another sustained moderate injuries during the incident on Aparima Street around 8pm.

Area Commander Inspector Mike Bowman says police are conducting multiple enquiries and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

He adds there appears to be no ongoing risk to the wider community.

A scene examination will be carried out this morning.
