    Hopes a new NCEA subject will be a significant step towards equality for Maori knowledge


    The course in Maori performing arts, or Te Ao Haka, will be available for about 900 students at more than 30 schools - for all three NCEA levels.

    The performance-based art form is grounded in Maori culture, language and heritage.
