A Kapiti high school student has become a vaccine advocate for young Maori

Ngapera Parata has started a campaign to help battle misinformation about the jab, by talking to people in the community.

With help from Maori health provider Horo Te Pai, the 18-year-old's aiming to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

Parata says it's about protecting her community.

She says a lot of the misinformation going around before she started her work was concerning... sparking the idea.
