There's some support emerging for lowering the Maori superannuation age

There's some support emerging for lowering the Maori superannuation age

Maori Party co-leader Rawiri Waititi has suggested lowering it eight years to 57 - given on average, Maori die younger than Pakeha.

Ngai Te Rangi CEO, Paora Stanley, says it's a good start in addressing the issue of Maori health.

He says it opens the floor for a discussion about why Maori health is in such a terrible state.
