Winston Peters is accusing Te Pati Maori of disrespecting the Constitution, at yesterday's swearing-in ceremony

Winston Peters is accusing Te Pati Maori of disrespecting the Constitution, at yesterday's swearing-in ceremony

Before making the required pledge to the Crown, the six Maori Party MPs first swore an oath to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and their mokopuna.

The New Zealand First leader says it showed a contempt for Parliament and normal procedure.

He says they should be told to do it like everyone else, saying they've only been in Parliament five minutes.
