Two men are due in Kaikohe District Court tomorrow after a firearm was allegedly discharged in the Far North this morning

Multiple Police units called to a Kaikohe address just after 10am found an illegal firearm.

The men aged 21 and 49 have been charged with careless firearm discharge, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Dalzell says Police don't believe it's directly related to gang conflict in the area.
