    Power has been restored to most in the Gisborne region after heavy rain caused flooding


    Tairawhiti's under a state of emergency - with more heavy rain expected to start falling about now - with a MetService Red warning in place until 7am tomorrow.

    Eastland Network says 115 customers are still without power in small pockets - but they have significant faults - with poles and wires down, flooding and other damage.

    It says their power won't be restored tonight.
