    Motorists are being urged to avoid travel between Tauranga and Katikati, with a scrub fire in Bay of Plenty's Whakamarama


    Emergency services received reports before two, of the blaze near Te Puna Stream.

    State Highway 2 and some nearby roads are blocked.

    A Fire and Emergency spokespersons says nine appliances are in attendance and the fire is contained.
