A chaotic night for Waikato police, has ended in three patrol cars being rammed, a getaway car being spiked three times, and a 43-year-old man in custody

A chaotic night for Waikato police, has ended in three patrol cars being rammed, a getaway car being spiked three times, and a 43-year-old man in custody

Police say a vehicle of interest was spotted last night at two consecutive reports of theft in Te Awamutu, and a report of disorder at a McDonalds.

The vehicle was successfully spiked but continued driving through the township, and was spiked another two times.

Police say the alleged offender then intentionally drove into a stationary patrol vehicle, before ramming into two more while being blockaded.

No staff were injured and the man is due to appear in Hamilton District Court today, facing a number of driving, assault, and shoplifting charges.
