    A Rotorua shoplifter's heading to jail for more than two years, after his getaway was thwarted by a flat battery


    The Rotorua Daily Post reports Leonard Renata Kaaho, got stuck in the flat car when he tried to take more than 150 dollars of groceries from Fenton Street's Woolworths in January.

    Police arrested him in the carpark, finding a shotgun and ammunition in his car and charged him with a raft of other offences.

    Judge Bergseng sentenced him to 25 months imprisonment.
