Concern that internal issues among gang members in Levin is spilling out into the community

Concern that internal issues among gang members in Levin is spilling out into the community

Horowhenua's mayor is welcoming a tripling of police resources after a spate of gang-related shootings in Levin last week.

Two people were found with gunshot wounds, in four separate firearm incidents.

Mayor Bernie Wanden says a lot of people are scared, but having more police is already making a difference.

He says they've already seized multiple firearms and knives because of their ability to search vehicles.
