The 2020 Holiday Road Toll has already doubled last year's total

One person died following a two-vehicle crash at Dairy Flat, north of Auckland yesterday morning.

It was just hours after another person died after a crash on Nikau Road, near Palmerston North just before five-am.

It follows two deaths in a single car crash in Clevedon on Christmas Day, and two others on Boxing Day in Henderson.

Another two people lost their lives after a crash between a motorcycle and milk tanker in Southland on Monday.

The holiday road toll period doesn't end until Tuesday morning.
