Assessments continue in Tasman, after the worst flooding in decades

Assessments continue in Tasman, after the worst flooding in decades

Teams have visited hundreds of homes and are out again today assessing needs and conditions on the ground.

Helicopters have dropped off essential supplies to 40 properties, 42 roads are still closed and 18 households don't have power.

Civil Defence Group Controller, James Thomson says people needing help, should call them for a welfare check.

He says their focus is ensuring people have the essentials for surviving - and to look after people beyond the State of Emergency and recovery phase.
