Heavy rains have led to a West Coast river's, swift change in course

The region has been hit with heavy rain, both last and this weekend.
Now 95% of the Waiho river is flowing into the neighbouring Tatare Stream, north of the Franz Josef township.
West Coast Regional Council Chairperson Peter Haddock, says the council has a long-term plan for the river, and people aren't in danger at the moment.
