Heavy rain and severe gales are once again ready to pummel Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough

They're subject to Orange Rain Warnings for tomorrow - with a chance of worsening to Red.

It's after weeks of on-and-off extreme weather, bringing surface flooding, slips and punishing rain.

Civil defence public information manager, Paul Shaddock, says they hope this time won't be as bad, but people need to prepare for the worst.

He says they're expecting flooding in low lying areas - because already saturated land can't handle additional water.
