Two men have been arrested, while firearms, ammunition and drugs have been seized, following search warrants targeting illegal hunters in Southland

Four warrants have been carried out in Invercargill and Mataura, as part of Operation Hawk.

Police seized three firearms, ammunition, methamphetamine and cannabis from the pair.

They're facing charges of unlawful firearm possession, reckless discharging of firearms and entering agricultural land with intent to commit a crime - and will appear in court over the next month.
