    Two men have had their nets, waders and other equipment seized after being caught illegally whitebaiting in Western Southland


    Police and DOC ran their third joint enforcement operation on Tuesday night targeting anyone whitebaiting outside of the season.

    Officers were disappointed to find two men illegally fishing at the Waiau River mouth.

    The incident has been passed on to DOC to consider prosecution.
