    A person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a fire in West Otago


    Fire and emergency were called to a building fire in Heriot, just before 3 this morning.

    Two ambulances and a helicopter were called to the scene - airlifting one person to Dunedin Hospital.

    Two fire investigators will return to the scene this morning.
