People made redundant from Covid 19 are the target of farmers with jobs to fill on dairy farms

People made redundant from Covid 19 are the target of farmers with jobs to fill on dairy farms

Southland's Fortuna Group has at least 15 vacancies as a result of migrants returning home.

Chief executive Matthew Richards would like nothing better than new Zealanders filling the positions as Gypsy Day is fast approaching.

He says it's still possible with hard work to become a millionaire in 10 to 15 years.

Richards says about half of the group's workforce are migrants, but many have gone back to their families during the Covid 19 crisis.

Newcomers can expect to earn about 50-thousand dollars a year for a dairy assistant role.
