Another global dairy giant could take over some of Fonterra's most well-known brands

Another global dairy giant could take over some of Fonterra's most well-known brands

    Fonterra

The New Zealand dairy co-op has confirmed plans to sell off its consumer arm, for up to three billion dollars.

That would see it relinquish well-known brands like Anchor, Mainland Cheese and Kapiti Ice Cream.

Forsyth Barr Senior Analyst Matt Montgomerie says Fonterra's reporting meaningful buyer interest for a potential trade sale.

He says another dairy giant like Nestle or Danone could be interested.
