    Tom Walsh hopes some off-season weight gains turn into extra centimetres on the measuring tape for his throws this year


    The kiwi shotputter is back in action at his home event, the International Track Meet, in Christchurch this afternoon.

    Walsh says he's bulked in the off-season to get some more oomph.



    Walsh's event starts just before 2pm.

    His American rival Ryan Crouser has just improved on his own world record by a centimetre, moving out to 23.38m.
