    An opportunity to compete in a half ironman in Taupo has been too good to pass up for Methven's Braden Currie


    The two-time winner is a late entry for tomorrow's race, which hasn't been held since 2019 due to the pandemic.

    Currie's gunning for a qualifying spot in next year's world championships - also held in Taupo.

    He's looking forward to testing himself against some of New Zealand's best - and a former world champion from Spain.
