    Sprinter Zoe Hobbs has started 2024 on the right track after winning the women's 100 metres at the Potts Classic in Hastings


    Hobbs finished ahead of Australian Bree Masters and New Zealand 200 metre record-holder Rosie Elliott in a time of 11.39 seconds.

    Middle distance runner James Preston won the men's 800 metres with a time of 1 minute 45.89 seconds, more than a second outside of the Olympic qualifying time .

    Lauren Bruce took out women's hammer throw event with a best effort of 68.21 metres.
