The Green Party's announced it's officially backing Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau' reelection bid

The Green Party's announced it's officially backing Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau' reelection bid

Whanau last time ran as an independent, but has now aligned herself more closely with the Greens, running on the party's ticket in her bid for a second term.

She said earlier this year she wasn't being green enough and had upset some party members.

Running on the ticket will mean she has access to the party's resources.

Those challenging Whanau include Councillor Ray Chung, businessman Karl Tiefenbacher, former councillor Rob Goulden, predator free champion Kelvin Hastie, and Wellington Live Facebook page owner Graham Bloxham.
